Commencing its fifth year of affiliation with the University of Manitoba Asian Studies Centre, CAUSA (Collective for Advanced and Unified Studies in the Visual Arts) continues to develop a cross-cultural (trans-generational) research theme –identified, in 2014, as CHINATOWN(S) IN MOTION: READING (RE-READING) THE CITY.
Developed as an unconventional ‘knowledge transfer’ platform, the CAUSA/U of M website sustains a verbal/visual ‘presence’ that is at once densely archival and fluently propositional. As a continuous trajectory (dedicated, from its commencement, to the memory of Marshall McLuhan), the CAUSA/U of M project remains committed to expanded and deep-rooted exploration of a ‘timely’ contemporaneity: READING (ACROSS) EAST + WEST … CURATING (BEYOND) THE LIGHT BARRIER.
